About Nancy

What has brought me here?Let me break it down using the very heart of this site - Losing. Living. Loving.

Losing - My weight loss journey starts as many others do, by reaching a point where I wasn't getting any younger, both my mental and physical health was becoming ab factor and my self-esteem had reached an all time low. If that wasn't reason enough I knew that my family was concerned and I think that is what tipped the scales for me (pun intended). I had tried MyWW a few years back but stopped once I hit my first bump in the road. It presented itself to me once again when I started my new job and was lucky enough to have a great group of people to work with, some of whom were having the same struggle. Enter Nelia Santos. Nelia and I share an office and I was inspired by her WW journey and knew that she had hit a plateau and needed a kicks-tart to motivate her again. I decided then and there to dive in and see if this could work for me while creating a buddy system at work to keep us both on track. I am happy to say that I am now nearing the 30lb. mark since September 2019 and even with a few missteps I have stuck to it. Bonus is that I am the lucky recipient of Nelia's cooking and baking experiments so I think it has been win-win for me. In all honesty it is a challenge every single day but I one that I am determined to keep working on.
Living- I am a self-proclaimed book nerd and enjoy all aspects of the bookish life. I have always harbored the dream that one day I will someday write my own have but lacked the confidence to put pen to paper. For me this opportunity will allow me to dip my toes into the writing pool and test the waters. Can I do this? Do I have a voice? As daunting as those questions are and the curve ahead I am happy to see were this could lead.
Loving- Here is where I find it hard to get my thoughts out. I am a single woman in my late 40's who has not yet given up on finding my own fairy-tale but who has become more realistic on what that could look like. The older I get the more appreciative I am of love in all of its many varieties. A huge work in progress for me if self-love, which has always been hard but all the more important as I get older. Next is my family, while they love me unconditionally I want them also to be proud and maybe even a little bit inspired by what I do and the goals I can reach. I believe that if I work on learning to love and challenge myself I will open myself up for my own happily ever after.

Well that's me in a nutshell. While Nelia rocks in the cooking and recipe department I hope to compliment with some lifestyle posts where we can share thoughts and inspirations. I am sure that I will also manage to throw a book themed post in the mix once or twice for any like minded followers.
Cheers!
