Be Proud of Your Progress

How many of us have been on a "diet", exercise plan, weight loss regime...whatever you want to define it as...and have paid so much attention to the number on the scale that we ignore all of our "non-scale victories"?

One thing that I am grateful for learning while on my journey with myWW (formerly Weight Watchers) is that those NSV's are just as important if not more important than the number I see on the scale. I try to pay attention to small things along the way because those are the things that keep me motivated and moving forward. When I was able to wrap a bath towel completely around myself I just stopped for a second and stared at my reflection in the mirror. How long had it been since I'd been able to do that? I can cross my legs now, I can paint my toe nails without struggling while bent over, I've walked away from a cupcake and felt good about it, heck I gave up Chips for lent this year - the fact that I haven't cheated is a huge victory because chips are my fav!

Bottom line is that regardless of whether you are on a weight loss program, working on your fitness or just trying to get through this thing called life we need to be proud about those small victories. You have earned them!
