Never Say Never


Never in a million years would I think to sign up for anything remotely resembling exercise. But that is exactly what Nelia and I both did just the other day. We are now 2 days in to being proud members of The Happy Trails Racing "Going the Social Distance" event for the month of May. This a free initiative to get people outside and active while connecting without the pressure. YOU choose your goal. YOU hold yourself accountable. NO pressure.

We didn’t actively seek out this group but when a friend and fellow MyWW member suggested we join, it was with such a passion that we couldn’t say no. We each set a goal of running/walking 50km for the month of May which at first I admit I thought was not entirely doable on my end. Even though I walk daily for 30 minutes in my head it didn’t seem like enough. It was a pleasant surprise to find that it is plenty, more than enough in fact. Nelia is really getting into the groove and committed to running her 50km, she is so motivated and upbeat she even has me thinking I should give this running thing a try.

We thought it would be fun to blog about how we are doing sporadically through the month, if it inspires any of you to get out there and get active then I say its a job well done.
