Saying no to "Toxic People"

"Life is hard enough some days without having to walk through minefields of toxicity from those around you"

We all know who those people are in our lives, those that are happiest pointing out even the tiniest flaw in others. They do this to make themselves feel superior and worthy of adoration from like minded people, never realizing that what it truly shows to the world is a person whose only claim to fame is through the pain of others. It is easy to fall prey to these individuals because they come so cleverly disguised, the friend/partner who says all the right things but whose actions prove the opposite is true. The co-worker or peer whose smile hides the fact that they can only get ahead by bringing those on the team down. The complainer who does not see the good in anyone or anything. The list goes on ...

It's a fact of life that these people exist in every facet of life but that does not mean we need to accept their behavior. We need to remove these toxic people from our lives in order to reach our full potential. Instead we need to surround ourselves with those who lift us up, those who aide us on our journey of fulfillment. Not only that but we need to be that person for others in our lives.

Toxic people cannot change but we can change our response to them.
