I feel like I have been on a weight loss journey my entire life! I have gone through stages where I have had success, lost weight, looked better, felt better but was "I" better? This journey is so much more than just a weight loss journey, it needs to be. It isn't enough to work on dropping pounds and not appreciating all of the other wonderful things that make you amazing. If you don't love yourself now, how will you love yourself 25, 50 a 100 pounds from now...because that won't make you perfect. In fact it may even bring other things you will find difficult to accept - loose skin, stretch marks. Are you ready for that?
Finding self love and self acceptance takes a lot of practice. It means taking the time to remind yourself of all of the amazing things that make you, you. Make a list if you have to. Write it down and when the nasty thoughts creep in..."you're fat, you can't do this, you're a failure, just give up...DON'T LISTEN. Remind yourself you are beautiful, you are a fighter, you have worth, and you are unique because there is only one YOU.
What are you waiting for? Go ahead...do it...make your list!
