Be Remembered

Live the Way You Want to be Remembered

When you have lived through year upon year of hiding, second guessing, self doubt, self hate...finding the strength to love ones self is a truly heroic.

Think about it. We admire people who overcome adversity, who fight for their rights and fight for acceptance, not only for themselves but for others. Don't get me wrong I am not comparing the struggle of growing up and living overweight to any of the more prevalent social injustices. BUT we are always very happy to support others but lack in the courage to support ourselves.

It doesn't happen overnight; The realization that we are worthy of self love and admiration. It definitely takes time and practice. We are always quick to compliment others and be someone else's cheerleader. What will it take for you to do this for yourself? What can you do to start building self confidence, the courage to love yourself every day?

Tell yourself you are worthy everyday. Say it out loud, write it down. Positive affirmations build confidence and self love.

Set small goals that are achievable. Setting tough, lofty goals are great but what happens when you don't reach them? You get down on yourself, you tell yourself you failed, and then you quit. Setting smaller achievable goals makes you feel like you're a winner. It helps build the momentum to keep going and keeps you motivated.

Put yourself out there. This one is tough BUT can be the most rewarding. It is scary to imagine posting that bathing suit pic online, sharing it with the world so to speak. What will people say? What will people think? STOP. We need to start changing the narrative. Building each other up starts at home, it starts with you.

Look at what you have achieved. And I am not talking about the weight-loss. Whether you have lost 5lbs or 50lbs, it is an achievement. But you are far more than what the number on the scale or your clothes tag says. Think about all of the things you have accomplished in your life. What will you be remembered for? Certainly not how much you weighed.

It is time to reclaim the innocent self confidence we had once upon a time. Before it was tainted by television, social media and inflated opinions.

Be remembered for being strong.
Be remembered for being brave.
Be remembered for being kind.
Be remembered for being YOU.
