I wholeheartedly admit that before losing 50lbs I was extremely hesitant to jump into certain activities. I let negative, unhealthy thoughts about exercise and my body interfere with that part of my weight loss and wellness journey.
I no longer stress out about the exercise I do being a certain length of time or intensity. Now I concentrate on doing what feels good, and what I enjoy. Because just like every other aspect of a weight loss/wellness journey whatever we do has to be sustainable and realistic.
I have certainly become less rigid about my thoughts around exercise and activity. I enjoy trying new types of workouts, despite whether I look silly doing it or not. I no longer view exercise as a way to lose weight but an every day part of my health and wellness. Exercise gives me a sense of accomplishment and I find my body now craves movement in some form or another.
Consider the fact that you would never want anyone telling you that "You can't run, you're too fat", or "You can't do zumba, you are not coordinated enough", "You? Lift weights?".
Why would you say it to yourself? You wouldn't let anyone disrespect you in that way - so do not disrespect yourself either!
Get out there and do what you love!
