 I quit WW. Again. I know, I know...consistency is key, I should stick to it, I need to work the plan for the plan to work. But maybe not. Maybe WW or calorie counting or intermittent fasting...maybe it's just not right for me.
 

Tonight I was talking to one of our LLL community members and during our chat I told her I think for me I need to start thinking about food in a different way. Is it actually good for me? Is it fueling my body the way I need it to? Does my body need this vs I have enough points for this so I'm going to eat it. 


With my Hashimoto's thyroiditis I need to figure out what foods are causing me inflammation, discomfort and causing more harm for me than good. The last 5 years while on WW or while doing calorie counting I have just looked at food as a number. Breakfast was 4 points, Lunch was 4 points, Dinner was 6 points, well would you look at that i have 9 points left! I can 3 chocolate chip cookies, or some of those chips in the cupboard. Instead of really paying attention to what I put in my mouth. This is part of the reason I feel like I need to make a clean break from WW. It did me well at the very beginning of my journey but it just isn't what my body or mind needs right now. 

Where do I go from here? I'm not entirely sure. I am going to continue to be mindful about what I eat but I feel like I have a lot to learn about food as fuel and nutrition, what to eat and when, and just about how my body reacts to food. I will say that I have started following and looking into the Livy Method by Gina Livy. It's a program based on a 3 step process which includes, addressing why the body is feeling the need to store fat, learn what the body needs to focus on fat loss and how to create that environment so the body can get rid of the fat. I'm also following up with my Naturopath in the new year. I feel like I have a small plan, it's not solid but its a work in progress, like me.
